This week is Market Week Inside the Showroom. Five times a year our buyers come to the showroom to view our collections and place orders for their stores. May market would not be complete without the Fashion Accessory Benefit Ball a.k.a FABB at Pier 60 where Influential people from across the accessory industry including Zac Posen and Ivanka Trump come together to celebrate a noble cause. This year, like last, we brought in make-up artists and hair stylists to spoil our buyers for our big night out as an industry. We have to say everyone looked FABULOUS! Last night we helped host a Mother’s Day Press Event that took place inside the showroom. Karen Giberson, president of the Accessories Council, and Alison Lang, Founder and Fashion Director of Alison Lang Style, presented the top ten gifts for Mother’s Day! Here are some pictures of the event ambiance and suggested gifts. Our Roman Buckle Bracelet was featured as an item. The event was such a hit it became a top trending topic on Twitter. Mother’s Day gives us a chance to show our appreciation for our special wonder women. This week is all about beauty. We have done the research, stalked the top beauty sites and designer catwalks to bring you the top six Spring beauty trends that are a must-follow this season.

1. The deep side part. Whether your hair is up or down, this will give your look a dramatic edge.

2. Nape of the neck ponytails and buns. Create this look from loosely tousled strands to add a whimsy & natural vibe.

3. Full brows with a defined arch. Full brows made their movement years ago and are here to stay, this season put extra emphasis on the arch to mimic runway trends.

4. Colored eyeliner and in particular this year’s Pantone 17-5641 otherwise known as Emerald. “Lively. Radiant. Lush…”

5. Matte pouts. Tangerine Tango had it’s moment, this season there is a re-emphasis on pretty pinks and cherry reds in a matte finish.

6. Nude nails. The trend lives on, however, instead of matching your skin tone kick it up a notch, opt for a color like Dior Veris Nude.

3. Use cupcake-cake/dessert trays to circulate between everyday wear.

4. Use old vases, glass bowels or clear bins to hold bangles and rings. You can put these in a drawer or on top of your dresser.

Happy Spring! We have been searching for the top trends this season and are happy to report the top 4 must-haves that you need now!

1. All over blue eyeshadow - Who says you should only apply color to your lid? Not us! Be bold and apply all over!

2. Sequin fanny pack - All the rage for jetsetting this season, keep your hands free while keeping your belongings close to your body and safe.

3. Tights with sandals - We have seen a lot of this coming down the runway this season. Being that it’s warming up outside, it’s time to start breaking out your spring wardrobe.

As St. Patrick’s Day is quickly approaching, we watch as local souvenir shops fill up with leprechaun inspired hats, green beads and the ever classic “Kiss Me I’m Irish” t-shirts. This year we asked a few of our own employees what they had in store for their weekend festivities, here is what they said…

1. Pub Crawl! Drinking lots of green beer with shots of Irish Whiskey. Sláinte!

2. Going to Chicago to see the river dyed green.

3. Watching the NYC parade on Saturday with family.

4. Enjoying brunch with friends and a large plate of corn beef hash.

5. Heading to Savannah, GA for one of the largest St. Paddy’s Day celebrations in the the United States!

A Tour of our Design Atelier

Have you ever wondered what the inside of an NYC jewelry design studio would look like? Here at R&S we have a team of incredibly talented designers and sample makers that create and develop our designs in house! In our design studio we have we have a giant 10 foot by 10 foot foam core wall that we pin inspiration pictures and component pieces to that start as the building blocks for our collections. From stacks of design books to endless bins of beads, chains and more this is where all the magic happens. We thought it would be fun to give you an Inside the Showroom tour and introduce a few of the faces that are behind our innovative designs. Pictured first is Design Director, Anne Rush. Second is Melanie Warner, Senior Designer. Third is Allie Donati our design room assistant. Enjoy a look around!
